FOODSHOPPER: Development of an e-commerce platform with a virtual assistant based on Artificial Intelligence.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism (MINCOTUR) approved funding for the AEI – FOODSHOPPER Project, aimed at developing a technological tool that serves as a showcase for Navarrese products and offers a differentiating value by applying artificial intelligence techniques to advise interested buyers on the products that best match their preferences.

The project’s objective is to develop an e-commerce platform for regional products, incorporating an artificial intelligence system that guides users through a completely unique and disruptive shopping experience. The goal is to go beyond simply browsing by categories, creating a personalized advisor capable of answering questions and providing recommendations, just like a specialized vendor would. In this sense, the project promotes the consumption of sustainable local foods and healthy diets while helping to reduce food waste through efficient digital commerce systems.

The FOODSHOPPER project is part of the 2023 AEIs (Innovative Business Clusters) aid program and is funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The consortium is led by the NAGRIFOOD Agri-Food Cluster (Navarra), alongside the Navarrese agri-food companies EL NAVARRICO and EL CASERÍO DE TAFALLA, as well as the Navarrese technology SMEs iAR and ACMP. Additionally, it has the collaboration of the Aragonese Food Cluster, ARAGON INNOVALIMEN. The clusters will disseminate the technology and the results obtained to their members facing similar challenges.
