AGRIFOOD-ENV-DSS one of the great commitments of the Aragonese Food Cluster to promote sustainability strategies in the agri-food sector

The AGRIFOOD-ENV-DSS project focuses on the research and development of a new advanced digital system, as a tool to help decision-making and optimize production processes in the agri-food industry, especially in the viticulture and beer sector. . In addition, it intends to reduce its environmental footprint, mainly its energy and water consumption. Some objectives that will be achieved hand in hand with the technological SMEs FAMA and CUATROCHENTA, which will seek the best solutions

The AGRIFOOD-ENV-DSS system will carry out the acquisition and management of data through mobile devices, and with this information the producer will be able to direct irrigation and fertilization towards where they are most needed. It will do so with digital reporting, which will make it possible to manage and minimize negative environmental risks and impacts and savings in production costs for the agri-food industry.

The project consortium is made up of relevant companies in the agri-food industry, both large companies and relevant SMEs in the wine, cava and beer industry, such as GRANDES VINOS, LA ZARAGOZANA, SUMARROCA, where the implementation of digitization strategies is key to Optimize key parameters of production processes throughout the entire value chain to increase the energy efficiency of industrial management, increase its quality and reduce its impact by applying advanced digital technologies.

The project will contribute to the development of the new AGRIFOOD-ENV-DSS digital system in promoting a new, more efficient management model for the food industry with less environmental impact. The use of this digital system will contribute to reducing the generation of packaging and food waste, reducing water consumption and improving the efficiency of manufacturing lines, allowing companies to optimize the management model of their industrial plants and anticipate their Productive processes.

The project is included in the framework of aid for AEIS, Innovative Business Associations, 2022b. The consortium is led by the Aragonese Food Cluster with the participation of the Wine Cluster of Catalonia (INNOVI) with the participation of companies from the wine industry GRANDES VINOS, LA ZARAGOZANA, SUMARROCA and technology companies, FAMA and SOLUCIONES CUATROOCHETA.
